The Tiny Moments You’ll Want to Remember

Before I became a parent, I imagined the moments I’d remember most would be the big milestones.

The first words. The first steps. The first day of school.

And while those memories are every bit as special as you’d expect, I’ve come to realise it’s often the smaller moments that you treasure the most.

The bedtime stories read night after night.

The favourite blanket that went everywhere.

The little hand reaching for yours.

As a parent, there have been times when I’ve been so focused on getting through busy days that I’ve forgotten to appreciate the little things. Looking back now, as my children begin to outgrow some of those childhood rituals, I find myself noticing just how quickly those years have passed.

Recently, I picked up one of the books we used to read together almost every evening. Somewhere along the way, it had been replaced by new interests and bigger adventures. There wasn’t a particular day it happened — it just quietly became part of the past.

That made me realise how many precious memories are hidden inside ordinary days.

They’re not usually the picture-perfect moments.

They’re the dens made from sofa cushions, the baking sessions that leave flour everywhere, the walks that take twice as long because little legs stop to investigate every stick and stone.

At Evie & Fenn, we’re inspired by these moments. Childhood passes so quickly, and while we can’t slow it down, we can choose to notice it a little more.

So here’s a gentle reminder to take the photo, read the extra story, pause for the cuddle and soak up the laughter.

Because one day, it’s these tiny moments that become the memories we treasure most.
